Express yourself!
the 12th day of Classics' styling tips.
As loyal subcribers you probably saw this last post coming! Whilst I’ve always liked fashions, looking at trends and learning new…well, just learning, when it comes to the creative side of life especially, I want to encourage you all to just EXPRESS YOURSELF!
Undoubtedly the single most productive thing you can to do be more creative and confident with styling any part of your life, home, business or outfit is to express your identity. Identities are massive! Continually changing and evolving and styling is best when it does, in my opinion, include all the expressions of your interests, your inspirations, your politics, where you live, your hopes for humanity and what you’ve enjoyed reading, watching and listening to, as well as the obvious stuff like your favourite colour!
In an age where there is an overwhelming homogenisation of ideas, shops, thoughts, homes and the way we live, it’s more important than ever that you express who YOU are and your individualtiy.
Be Yourself. Don’t be hard on yourself. Resist the feeling of a constant riush to change yourself for the trends. Don’t subscribe! It’s ok if it takes time and experimentation to find your groove.
The only trends or styles that will really work are the ones that are best suited to YOU and that help you express who you are.
I’m signing off now for a break but I’m already looking forward to some time in the allotment watching the signs of new bulbs and once I’ve helped Tim recover from his knee replacement, we’ll be back in the van hunting for stock and bringing home treasure for you all that will be the shop and at Hill House Nursery.
Peace and goodwill to you all and thanks again for being such supportive and loyal readers, helping me to express myself! Dena x
